Janelle Mason-Olivo

Janelle began her martial arts training at the age of 6 years old. She began competing at the age of 7, and went on to win numerous awards in forms, fighting and weapons, in both traditional and non-traditional style tournaments. She has competed in national and international competitions and is a 6x international champion in forms, fighting and weapons. She has represented the United States in Athens, Greece and Porta La Cruz, Venezuela and was a member of the USA Karate Team. Janelle is an AFAA certified personal trainer, fitness counselor and aerobics instructor and the creator of the Chizel Fitness System.


Ray Olivo

Ray Olivo began boxing at the age of 9 in Bronx, New York and spent his summers training in a boxing gym in Ceiba, Puerto Rico. Ray began competing at the age of 10 in Golden Gloves and competed in numerous competitions from age 10 to age 17 and was undefeated. He went on to represent Puerto Rico at the Pan American Games in 1984. Ray served in the military for 14 years and received extensive training in hand to hand combat, special operations training, and tactical weapons. While in the military he began training in kickboxing and competed in the WKO. Ray began his training in Koei-Kan Karate in 1995, is a certified black belt instructor and a national champion in forms and fighting. He teaches Koei- Kan Karate and the infamous Chizel Studio Box/Boot Camp classes at the Academy.


Candie Zaharis-Allen

Candie began training with Janelle in 1997. She was always active and athletic and had trained in a variety of programs, but found it difficult to find a program that kept her motivated and continued to give her results. After training in the Chizel Fitness System for 2 years, she became motivated to teach others and pass on the confidence, empowerment and physical fitness the Chizel Fitness System and martial arts training had given her. Candie became an instructor in 1999, and has been teaching Chizel Fitness classes for over eight years.
